Welcome to Save Energy Reap Taxes (SERT)

We’re gearing up for the 2012 election.

SERT members are activily gathering signatures of registered voters who want to vote on the wet dry issue on November 6, 2012.

Did you know that you can get a credit of up to $50.00 per taxpayer against your Arkansas individual income tax liability? Donate to Save Energy Reap taxes before April 18th 2011 and then use AR1800 Political Contributions Credit to claim the credit on your 2010 Arkansas tax return. The Department of Finance and Administration, income tax division, agrees that we are eligible to receive the funds and you as a donor will receive the credit. When filling out AR1800, put “Save Energy Reap Taxes” in Column A, Local Initiative” in Column B, and amount donated in Column C. You can also donate through this site (see the donate button below, or use the donate tab) or by contacting Ruth Reynolds at 870 257-4596. Any donation is appreciated and welcome.

Our opposition is well financed. The Committee to Oppose Alcohol in Sharp County spent $56,018 to keep the wet/dry issue off the ballot in 2008. Not one cent of the money was contributed by Sharp County. Who knows what the opposition will call itself next time but be assured there will be an opposing faction that is well financed by liquor interests. SERT spent $10,549 to defend your right to vote. $700.00 was contributed by Fulton County residents. All the rest came from Sharp County.

We are now making it easier for you to sign the petition. The ladies at N Sta Smile in Hardy have petitions and are available if you haven’t already signed and wish to sign to get the ititiative on the 2012 ballot.

As you may already know, Boone and Clark county voters have spoken and have approved their counties going wet. If you have not already signed the petition for 2012, please go to InStaSmile in Hardy, call 870 966-4940 or 870 257-4596, or contact us through this site. We will gladly go to you and get your signature.

We also need help gathering petitions. If you are willing to help gather petitions, please call Stewart Freigy at 870 966-4940 and he will train you on the petition gathering process.

The issue is not alcohol. The issue is YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE. How many men and women have fought and died throughout our country’s history protecting your right to vote?

    Thank you.
